Why Luminous?
Hi, I’m Alpana, the creator of Luminous, and here is why.
For years, I stood behind the camera photographing celebrities, entrepreneurs, and changemakers while hiding from it myself. It took me a long time to step into the light.
In my mid-fifties, I shared portraits of myself in lingerie on the internet, and for the first time, I felt free. I was free from cultural expectations, from the pressure to shrink, to dim, or to wait. I was claiming space for myself.
Luminous is designed for you and your OWN VERSION of stepping into the spotlight.
It may not look like mine, and that’s okay.
This portrait experience is for women who have spent years showing up for everyone else, pouring time, energy, and love into their families, careers, communities, and even their pets, but rarely into themselves.
It’s for the women who carry their scars like medals, whose laughter lines are proof of joy hard-earned, and whose very presence is a story worth telling.
Through portraits and storytelling, Luminous is not just about how you look. It is about who you are, your confidence, your radiance, and your story.

STYLING & CREATIVE CONSULTATION
We’ll start with a personalized design call to plan your session — from wardrobe and styling to the overall mood and vision. You’ll receive expert guidance on selecting outfits that photograph beautifully and reflect your personality
PROFESSIONAL HAIR AND MAKEUP
Enjoy a relaxing start to your session with professional makeup and hairstyling by our talented artist worth $300+. Your look will be glam or refined, tailored to highlight your best features—so you feel radiant, confident, and effortlessly camera-ready.
CELEBRITY-STYLE PORTRAIT SESSION
Step into being a Covergirl for a fully guided, magazine-style portrait experience.
You don’t need to know how to pose — I’ll direct you every step of the way to capture your most flattering angles and authentic expressions.
We’ll photograph you in a mix of looks and moods that tell the story of your strength, style, and light.
IMAGE REVIEW AND AND PORTRAIT SELECTION
After your session, you’ll be invited to view your beautiful portraits and select your favorites. Your session fee includes one complimentary image (a $300 value), and additional collections can be purchased starting at $1800. Each portrait is artfully retouched and professionally crafted to be a timeless piece of art.

Before-and-after makeover images may also be shared to highlight each woman’s transformation and radiant confidence.
