I started in advertising in Bombay, built a web design and photography career in the Bay Area, and grew into brand strategy for founders who were done blending in. Along the way my work was published in The New York Times, commissioned by Apple, and exhibited at the International Center of Photography in New York. I co-authored an international Amazon bestseller called Women, Money and the Energy of Life and hosted PowHer Up, a summit where 21 experts helped women entrepreneurs dream bigger.
Which means I know exactly what it takes to make someone impossible to overlook. And I know something else too, because I lived it: you can be the person behind all of that and still be invisible yourself.

Like you, for many years I kept the best parts of myself hidden.
Not Anymore.
Growing up in India with gendered norms, I learned early not to take up too much space. Coming to America, I found patriarchy had followed me, only the pressure looked different. Fit in. Soften the accent. Leave the culture at home. Both continents taught me some version of the same lesson. Hide the parts of yourself that might make other people uncomfortable.
Even after 20 years photographing celebrities, Supreme Court judges, and accomplished women, I was far more comfortable behind the camera. And I saw that same pattern in my clients. Women who were brilliant and ambitious could walk into a room with confidence, then shrink the second a camera turned toward them.
My own shift came through investing deeply in coaching, personal growth, and leadership work, and finally stepping in front of the camera myself. One of those portraits, of me in lingerie, sat on my hard drive for almost a year before I shared it on LinkedIn.
Not everyone approved. It didn’t matter.
It wasn’t really about the lingerie. It was about no longer asking permission to be seen.

My East-West identity, my love of art, technology and food, and the stories I care about shape everything I create. Bombay Bites, a digital storytelling cookbook honoring my mom, came out of that. So did my shop, where film photography and art sit next to my unapologetic FUCK OFF mugs, turning my point of view into income.
The thread connecting all of it is visibility. The more I’ve let people see the different parts of who I am, the more freedom I’ve had to create, sell, and be known for more than one thing.
That is the same freedom I want for the women I work with. To be bold, be seen, and stop shrinking into one neat little label.
